PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron rescues and rehabilitates abused, abandoned and neglected animals of Summit County, places them in good homes, investigates and prosecutes animal cruelty, and strives to set a standard of excellence and leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs.
Approximately 5% of our funding comes from local government sources. The rest comes from private donations, grants, and adoptions from people like you. Please consider donating or adopting today!

We want to thank Akron area Acme Fresh Market customers and the Acme Family Foundation for their generous gift of $7,868.43 from the Coins for Pets wishing wells located in area Acme stores. Your donations provide shelter care for abused, neglected and abandoned rescue animals.
Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron applauds the Governor and the members of the Ohio General Assembly for removing pit bulls from automatic designation as vicious dogs under Ohio law. Now, every dog can be judged on its behavior rather than just its breed. More terrific rescue dogs will get their second chance in Ohio!
Adopt a "Canine Good Citizen" or a "Basic Behavior Grad" from Pawsibilities, the Humane Society of Greater Akron. More than 40 dogs have graduated from the new training program that makes "good dogs into great dogs."
