PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron rescues and rehabilitates abused, abandoned and neglected animals of Summit County, places them in good homes, investigates and prosecutes animal cruelty, and strives to set a standard of excellence and leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs.
Approximately 5% of our funding comes from local government sources. The rest comes from private donations, grants, and adoptions from people like you. Please consider donating or adopting today!
Chefs Who Care is a fun way to kick back after work and support the abandoned, abused and neglected animals at Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron! In honor of our fabulous felines, we are offering reduced adoption fees on our cats* and kittens* for the entire month of June! Kittens under the age of 6 months will be $30, cats between the ages of 6 months and 6 years will be $20, and our senior feline friends will be just $10! Help us celebrate Adopt a Shelter Cat month by opening your heart and home to a loving kitty in need. All animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped and include a 30 free trial of pet insurance.

On December 5, 2012, PAWSibilites®, Humane Society of Greater Akron executed a search warrant on a residential property in Akron. A total of twelve pitbull- mixed dogs were seized, along with a slate treadmill, syringes, bite sticks and other home remedy medical supplies. A cruelty case that persisted over three months came to an end on March 14, 2013. The offender pled guilty to four misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty, restitution of $1,500, the individual had to surrender the dogs to PAWSibilities®, Humane Society of Greater Akron and cannot own another dog for five years.
