Find Your New Best Friend Today!

Dogs Cats Other Animals

We take good care of the dogs, cats, and other animals in our care; what they really need is a loving home with you and your family. Visit the Lorraine & Don Fair animal adoption center at our shelter today to find the perfect companion animal. We will do our best to ensure the right fit and a smooth transition.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

Adoption Profiles

Before adopting an animal, we have you fill out a quick adoption profile to find out which of our animals would fit best in your home and family. You may fill out the profile ahead of time to save yourself some time when you arrive at our shelter. Just download one of the following profiles. Fill out and print the profile and bring it in with you. You may also fax the profile to us at (330) 487-0365. We keep all adoption profiles on file in the case that you don't find your new best friend on your first visit.
