Photos with Santa & Neil Zaza

Join us on Saturday, December 3rd from 10AM – 2PM for our annual event Photos with Santa at the shelter. There is a $10 sitting fee and you can later order online any size prints, canvas wraps, purchase the digital file or even have the photo placed on different types of merchandise. All proceeds benefit Pawsibilities, the Humane Society of Greater Akron.

If this wasn’t exciting enough… Neil Zaza, legendary guitar phenomenon will be stopping by to make the holidays bright for the animals. Neil will be available to sign autographs, take pictures and answers questions about his music and career. In addition, anyone who makes a donation of $25 or more to PAWSIBILTIES on December 3rd, will receive a FREE CD Neil Zaza CD.

Holiday Rummage Sale

We will be having a Winter Rummage Sale just in time for the Holidays! The sale will take place at the usual site in Stow Kent Shopping Plaza located at 4301 Kent Road, in Stow. Holiday Rummage Sale

On Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th from 9AM - 5PM we will be hosting our last Rummage Sale of 2011! Come check out our amazing items and getting some of your holiday shopping done.

We will be accepting donations on October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 from 10am-2pm at the Rummage Sale site located at 4031 Kent Road in Stow; and Monday - Friday from 9am - 3pm at Tucker Supply located at 2800 2nd Street in Cuyahoga Falls. Please keep in mind we are unable to accept donations at the sale site after October 16.

Morbid Estates presents Elm Street Cemetery

A great group of guys that have years of experience in creating haunted houses are running Morbid Estates presents Elm Street Cemetery from Friday, October 28th - Monday, October 31st. The haunt is located at 3586 Elm Road in Stow and will be open from 7PM-11PM each night of operation. There is no fee to get in, but monetary donations will be accepted to benefit the homeless animals in our care. Round up a group of friends and get into the Halloween spirit by checking it out! Naitonal Pit Bull Awareness Day

On Saturday, October 22nd from 10AM-6PM help us celebrate National Pit Bull Awareness Day! We have a variety of breeds in our care and are here to honor one of our favorites. We will be hosting an educational presentation starting at 12PM, sharing success stories of our former pit bull residents, and changing minds about this sadly misunderstood breed. Join us for games, refreshments and raffles! If you have a bad representation of the breed, challenge yourself! We promise you won’t be disappointed when you leave.

- Educational presentation at 12pm starring guest speaker Bill Jones. He will be sharing his experience working with the Michael Vick dogs at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Nautica Charity Poker Festival

PEOPLE DO NOT NEED TO BE HSGA VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH THIS EVENT! We will provide training! We need people to deal cards, count money, collect seat fees, and help assign players to tables. Round up a group of friends and come support a great cause! We need about 50 volunteers per day. Volunteers can spend all day there and or work shifts. We have all kinds of scheduling options. The hours will be 4pm -12am. Volunteers are also welcome to stay and play Texas Hold 'em. Be sure to invite your friends and family to help or play. Akron Aeros Animal Palooza

Rummage Sale

Pawsibilities' next huge Rummage Sale is August 12th, 9am - 5pm, and August 13th, 9am - 4pm at Stow-Kent Shopping Center (near Big Lots)on Rte 59 in Stow.

We will be accepting donations every Saturday & Sunday in July between 10am - 2pm and Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm at Tucker Supply, located at 2800 2nd St. in Cuyahoga Falls.

Paws & Pitches at Canal Park

Tickets will also be available on game day at the door for full price, and those proceeds will not benefit the shelter so please purchase tickets from the shelter.

Hudson Wine Festival

The Hudson Wine Festival, benefiting the Humane Society of Greater Akron will take place Saturday, July 16 from 1 - 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 17 from 1 -6 p.m. along Village Way, in the beautiful First & Main shopping district.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and include 10 tastings and a souvenir wine glass. Additional tastings are 10 for $5 at the event.

In addition, the Wine & Wags VIP Preview Party will be held Friday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at Lake Forest Country Club where guests will be treated to mouth-watering hors d'oeuvres from Chef Ray Slagle and his staff, along with premium wine tastings and a silent auction among other activities. VIP tickets are available for $75 prior to June 10 and $90 after June 10 and can be obtained online at www.hudsonwinefestival.com or in person at the Humane Society of Greater Akron, The Learned Owl and Hatties Café in Hudson.

2011 Scoot-n-Shoot Motorcycle Run

Liberty Harley-Davidson is hosting their 8th Annual Scoot-n-Shoot Motorcycle Run and donating the proceeds to Pawsibilities, the Humane Society of Greater Akron. The run starts and ends at Liberty Harley-Davidson located at 32 East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue in Akron. Cost is $20 per rider, $15 per passenger and includes food and drink at rides end. Registration starts at 9:00AM on June 26th, 2011 and the first bike out is at 10:00AM, last bike out is at 12:00PM. Nautica Charity Poker Festival

Nautica Charity Poker Festival is a great event and fundraiser for Pawsibilities, the Humane Society of Greater Akron. This year, this event will be on Tuesday, June 21th from 4PM - 12AM and Wednesday, June 22st from 4PM - 12AM.

We will need 50 volunteers per night to help register players, deal cards, and help out with other various tasks. Please keep in mind that you do not need to be an HSGA volunteer to help with this event, so if you or someone you know belongs to a group that needs service hours, this is a great opportunity! Bark in the Park

We will begin taking donations every Saturday and Sunday in March from 10 - 2pm at the site. Donations can also be dropped off at Tucker Supply (2800 2nd St Cuyahoga Falls) from 9am - 3pm.

Please note that we are no longer able to accept large kitchen appliances.

Paolo's Bar & Eatery Celebrity Bartending Event

Join us on Saturday, January 28th from 6PM-9PM at Paolo's Bar & Eatery located at 1 West Exchange Street in Akron. Appetizers will be served and celebrity bartenders including County Executive Russ Pry, former PHSGA Board Member Extraordinaire Shelly Allio, and other notable county & city public officials will be serving drinks. Funds will be raised through bar tips (from 6PM-7PM), silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Winners will be announced at 9:30PM and guests are invited to stay and party on into the night!
