3/23/20 - Update on Operations at HSSC in Response to COVID-19

Our greatest responsibilities at HSSC are to our community and the animals that depend on our care. These animals rely on us, no matter what, even as we face unprecedented challenges. We are grateful for the tremendous public response from adopters and foster volunteers this week. In the past 7 days, 36 cats and 24 dogs found homes, and nearly 100 people have volunteered to serve as foster families.

Effective Tuesday, March 24th, we will conduct further adoptions by appointment in line with guidance from public health officials. Please visit our website to view adoptable animals and call 330-487-0333 ext. 226 to make an appointment.

We will continue to rescue animals in line with our mission. Please call 330-487-0333 to report animal abuse, or sick or injured stray animals. If you find a healthy stray animal we ask you, our friends in the community, to provide care for those animals, but welcome your calls for advice and guidance.

Additionally, in compliance with public health orders, HSSC will temporarily close Happy Tails Thrift Shop effective Tuesday, March 24th. During this time, we are unable to accept material donations for the Thrift Shop. We look forward to serving you and accepting your generous donations as soon as possible!

In-person donations of supplies are deeply appreciated and may be dropped off at our front doors. You may also shop our Amazon Wish List to have donations delivered directly. Additionally, we would be so grateful for your financial support at this challenging time - please click here to make a gift.
