We can never anticipate what animals will arrive at the doors of the Humane Society of Summit County. Just two weeks ago, we received a frantic call – a good Samaritan had come across a suspicious plastic bag near a dumpster and could not help but investigate. Inside, she found twelve puppies who had been heartlessly abandoned and desperately needed our help. Her intuition saved lives – a dozen puppy lives, that is.
She quickly brought them to our shelter, where our dedicated staff and volunteers provided them with emergency veterinary care, food, water, and a comfortable, safe place to recover – and all the love and attention you could imagine.
