Join us for the 2023 Bark in the Park Rescue Walk!

Saturday, September 16, 2023 | 9 a.m. - 12 noon | Munroe Falls Metro Park

This fun, family-friendly annual event is a great way to make a difference in the lives of animals. Bring your furry best friend and enjoy a one-mile pledge walk in the beautiful Munroe Falls Metro Park. Activities will include a non-denominational pet blessing, sponsor booths, and our Mobile Adoption Center featuring rescued animals in need of forever homes.

How to Sign Up

RESCUE WALKERS:

  • Select ‘Register to Walk’ above, complete the form and select ‘Confirm Amount’ at the end.
  • Your registration of $30 includes a t-shirt to be picked up the day of the event.
  • Complete your liability waiver. (These will also be available the day of the event.)

Rescue Walk Liability Waiver

RESCUE WALK FUNDRAISERS:

  • Select ‘Register to Walk’ above. After you complete the form, select ‘Confirm and Sign Up’ to create your fundraising page.
  • Add photos and your story. Your registration fee includes a t-shirt to be picked up the day of the event - and counts as your first donation towards your fundraising goal!
  • You can raise money as an individual or multiply your impact by creating a Fundraising Team with family, friends, or co-workers. To start a team, you must first register, and then you will have the option to "Join or Create a Team.”
  • Check your email for your personal fundraising page link to share and start collecting donations!
    • You may also fundraise old-school by collecting cash or checks with our offline pledge form -> Offline Pledge Form
  • Complete your liability waiver. (These will also be available the day of the event.)

Every gift makes a difference, and every dollar helps save a life!

Donations are tax-deductible and all proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Summit County.

Rescue Walk FAQs

Who can be a Rescue Walker?

  • Anyone can be a Rescue Walker! All you have to do is register for $30, which includes an event t-shirt.
  • Each Rescue Walker is encouraged to come early to browse our sponsor's booths and visit the food trucks.

How do I register to become a Rescue Walker?

  • Registering to join the Rescue Walk is easy!
  • You can register a few different ways:
  • Register by August 12th to guarantee t-shirt size. Day of registration will be available, but availability of rewards will be limited.

How do I pick up my t-shirt for registering for Bark in the Park?

  • You may pick up your shirt at the Rescue Walk table.

What is the difference between a Rescue Walker and the Rescue Walk Fundraiser?

  • A Rescue Walker is someone who ONLY registers for the Rescue Walk while the Rescue Walk Fundraiser is someone who elects to raise money and create a fundraising page after their walk registration is complete.
  • Both types are important to Bark in the Park and the 2,500 animals we rescue each year!
  • Walkers and Fundraisers will both join together to lead the one-mile Rescue Walk at Munroe Falls Metro Park!

Who can be a Rescue Walk Fundraiser?

  • Anyone who registers as a Rescue Walker for the $30 can elect to 'sign-up' and create their own fundraising page.
  • The $30 registration fee counts as the first donation towards your fundraising goal!
  • You can choose to raise funds as an individual or you can create or join a team to multiply your impact.

How do I fundraise as a Rescue Walk Fundraiser?

  • Once your Rescue Walk Fundraising registration is complete, you will be emailed your personal fundraising page link to add photos and your story.
    • You will also receive your own personal URL and a unique text-to-donate word to easily share with your friends, family, and colleagues.
  • You may use our easy, online website to direct donations to.
  • You may also choose to fundraise offline by sharing the offline pledge form.

What types of groups can form a Fundraising Team?

  • Any group of at least 2 people can form a Fundraising Team! School classes or grades, workplace departments or teams, families, and community or friends groups are welcome to join as teams.
  • Teams help multiply your impact by getting more people to join in the "ask."

I can't attend Bark in the Park in-person, can I still be a Rescue Walker or Fundraiser?

  • Yes, you can still be a Rescue Walker or Fundraiser even if you can't join us at Bark in the Park. You will still receive a t-shirt for your $30 Rescue Walker registration.

I prefer to fundraiser off-line (raising cash and checks only). What do I do?

  • You may still register as a Rescue Walker online first for the $30 registration fee, or register over the phone to (234) 212-9826, or register at Bark in the Park on 9/16.
  • Use the offline pledge form to track donations and collect cash and checks.
  • Offline donations should be submitted by mail or at the HSSC by August 12th. PLEASE NOTE: Due to park policies and safety concerns, we will not be accepting any cash or checks the day of the event.
    • You may turn in your offline donations in person or mail to the shelter at 7996 Darrow Rd. Suite 30, Twinsburg to the attention of Bark in the Park.

Do I have to have a dog to participate in the Rescue Walk?

  • No dog? No problem! Dogs are not required for any Rescue Walker to join us in the walk.
