Rescue Walk FAQs
Who can be a Rescue Walker?
Anyone can be a Rescue Walker! All you have to do is register for $30, which includes an event t-shirt.
Each Rescue Walker is encouraged to come early to browse our sponsor's booths and visit the food trucks.
Register at the Rescue Walk table at Bark in the Park on 9/16
Register by August 12th to guarantee t-shirt size. Day of registration will be available, but availability of rewards will be limited.
How do I pick up my t-shirt for registering for Bark in the Park?
You may pick up your shirt at the Rescue Walk table.
What is the difference between a Rescue Walker and the Rescue Walk Fundraiser?
A Rescue Walker is someone who ONLY registers for the Rescue Walk while the Rescue Walk Fundraiser is someone who elects to raise money and create a fundraising page after their walk registration is complete.
Both types are important to Bark in the Park and the 2,500 animals we rescue each year!
Walkers and Fundraisers will both join together to lead the one-mile Rescue Walk at Munroe Falls Metro Park!
Who can be a Rescue Walk Fundraiser?
Anyone who registers as a Rescue Walker for the $30 can elect to 'sign-up' and create their own fundraising page.
The $30 registration fee counts as the first donation towards your fundraising goal!
You can choose to raise funds as an individual or you can create or join a team to multiply your impact.
How do I fundraise as a Rescue Walk Fundraiser?
Once your Rescue Walk Fundraising registration is complete, you will be emailed your personal fundraising page link to add photos and your story.
You will also receive your own personal URL and a unique text-to-donate word to easily share with your friends, family, and colleagues.
You may use our easy, online website to direct donations to.
You may also choose to fundraise offline by sharing the offline pledge form.
What types of groups can form a Fundraising Team?
Any group of at least 2 people can form a Fundraising Team! School classes or grades, workplace departments or teams, families, and community or friends groups are welcome to join as teams.
Teams help multiply your impact by getting more people to join in the "ask."
I can't attend Bark in the Park in-person, can I still be a Rescue Walker or Fundraiser?
Yes, you can still be a Rescue Walker or Fundraiser even if you can't join us at Bark in the Park. You will still receive a t-shirt for your $30 Rescue Walker registration.
I prefer to fundraiser off-line (raising cash and checks only). What do I do?
You may still register as a Rescue Walker online first for the $30 registration fee, or register over the phone to (234) 212-9826, or register at Bark in the Park on 9/16.
You can always email Heather at hhunter@summithumane.org or call at (234)212-9826 to ask for forms to be sent to you.
Offline donations should be submitted by mail or at the HSSC by August 12th. PLEASE NOTE: Due to park policies and safety concerns, we will not be accepting any cash or checks the day of the event.
You may turn in your offline donations in person or mail to the shelter at 7996 Darrow Rd. Suite 30, Twinsburg to the attention of Bark in the Park.
Do I have to have a dog to participate in the Rescue Walk?
No dog? No problem! Dogs are not required for any Rescue Walker to join us in the walk.
