Beebop

Beebop survived an unthinkable act of animal cruelty.

Community members called our Humane Officers after they had reportedly witnessed a cat heartlessly thrown from the window of a moving car near Tallmadge, Ohio, leaving the cat suffering from traumatic injuries and terribly frightened. As the witnesses looked after Beebop, as he would be later named, our Humane Officers responded to the scene. The Officers provided emergency first aid and quickly transported him to the shelter for complete emergency veterinary care he needed to survive.

Snow

Snow’s life has been transformed since the day he was rescued by the Humane Society of Summit County. When we first met him earlier this year, Snow was suffering at the hands of a neglectful, abusive owner. Snow was living in a nightmare.

An extensive lack of basic grooming left Snow’s fur very severely matted, causing his eyes to be tangled shut. His body was covered in immensely painful wounds, scabs, and ulcers as his fur pulled tighter and tighter with time. The mats had trapped dangerous bacteria and caused infections in his eyes and skin. Snow’s ...

Quincy and Benji are unlikely best friends, but they share a strong bond having both been rescued by HSSC’s Humane Officers from dire circumstances and then adopted together.

In 2015, when Quincy was just a teeny, helpless kitten, he was rescued by our Humane Officers. Quincy was in need of emergency veterinary care as he was suffering from a painful and life-threatening bacterial infection. With antibiotic medications and delicate care from staff and volunteers, Quincy recovered and became the happy, bouncy, playful kitten he was meant to be. Quincy waited just a short time before he won over the ...
