Appointments now required to receive MABEL care
MABEL provides low-cost veterinary services for low-income neighborhoods in Summit County.
To qualify, you must be a Summit County resident, and enrolled in one or more of the following programs:
• SNAP
• WIC
• Medicaid
• TANF
Valid ID, proof of government assistance, and the name of the individual who scheduled the appointment must all match.

**Due to the high demand for MABEL services, clients who miss their appointment without calling or cancel less than 24 hours from their appointment will lose their $25 deposit and will be ineligible to sign up for services for one year. We are proud to offer these vital low-cost services to the community, and this policy helps ensure we can serve as many pets and families as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
MABEL, which stands for Making Animals Better and Enriching Lives, is a 28’ vehicle with housing for cats and small dogs on-unit. Because of the MABEL Clinic, we are able to travel to partner locations throughout Summit County to provide services on site. The vehicle has the capacity for intake care, surgery preparation, anesthesia, and climate control. In addition to spay/neuter surgery days, vaccination and wellness exams are offered to help maintain the health of pets.
Existing patients (seen by MABEL within the last year) who wish to purchase additional flea/tick or heartworm prevention, please email mabel@summithumane.org to place an order. A pickup time and location will be provided to you at order confirmation. No appointment required.

If your pet does best with a specific preventive, or if you prefer a product we do not currently carry, you can browse and purchase from Chewy’s extensive catalog of pet products.
When ordering prescription preventives through Chewy, please be sure to select Mabel Mobile Veterinary Clinic as your veterinarian so we can review and approve your pet’s prescription request.
